Diet Basics
In the Reverse Diet Solution, Tricia Cunningham claims that by switching the bulk of your calories to breakfast this will significantly change the way that your body uses these calories.
As you are generally involved in physical activity during the day, your body has the opportunity to burn off these calories - whereas if you have a large dinner and then go to bed, your body has no assistance in burning up those calories.
What to Eat
Nothing is strictly forbidden in this diet - which is great.
However, you are encouraged to choose the best possible alternative for each food e.g Brown Rice instead of White Rice or Wholemeal bread instead of White Bread.
When it's time for dinner, you should eat a simple meal like you normally would at breakfast e.g yoghurt with a piece of fruit or scrambled eggs.
"Just last week I started eating my big meal, what was once dinner, for lunch and it has been going very well. I am much more full and it keeps me satisfied much longer then my regular lunch."
Common sense dictates why consuming your volume of calories in reverse order works.
If your body is most active and burning most of its calories during the day, a large breakfast will give you a boost and a foundation for both physical and mental activity.
A good lunch will keep you going throughout the afternoon.
You don't require a big dinner in the evening because your body slows down and you sleep.
